Some Barney Books Are Beautiful
Many parents joke about Barney, the purple dinosaur and he is a rather intriguing and downright silly fellow when you come to think of it. Of course, young kids just love him to death, and yes, eventually they grow out of the Barney phase, but an entire generation grew up loving this little dinosaur, so if Jurassic Park ever does become a reality, you can be that these young children as adults will pay that full priced admission.
Some have asked if I believe that Barney Books for children make sense, are they really what our children should be reading, after all it is rather hokey the whole idea of a man-sized fat purple dinosaur right? Well, yes and no, I mean it is rather creative and opens up imagination for kids to explore a friendly, silly, funny purple dinosaur personified.

Let me recommend a great Barney Children's book for your kids that is about the kindergarten reading level, with lots of pictures and the ability to personalize the book so that your kid's picture is on every page. You see there is a whole in the middle of each page and you can paste a picture in the back:

"Barney & Me at the Circus" by Kimberly Kearns, Illustrated by Bill Alger; The Lyons Publishing Group; Allen, TX; 1997.

This book is fun and easy to go through with only one sentence per page and thick pages that cannot be ripped or torn. It is only 10 pages long and the kids can get their happy fill of Barney, that famous purple pal. So, do consider this book for your pre-school children.
